Shimmy was crowned Miss Burlesque North America 2020 and was also honored to be a 2019 Mover, Shaker and Innovator at the Burlesque Hall of Fame with her sultry fabric act. She was also a headliner at the 2019 Ohio Burlesque Festival and the winner of Best Overall at the 2019 Dublin Burlesque Festival. She has trained with industry icon Shelby Doll! Such an absolute honor to have you on feature FHM! What has your journey as a certified bombshell been like so far? Thank you so much, I am honored to be in the magazine! Getting to this point has been a mind-blowing journey and I’m trying to soak up every second of it.
We are blown away by your drive and professionalism, can you tell us what some of the things that motivate you to stay on top of your game are? I love pushing myself to explore how I can be better in both my life and career. I’m a problem solver by nature, so figuring out new things is a great way to keep me motivated.
Top 3 best moments of your career? There have been several amazing moments, but I think winning Miss Burlesque North America, headlining my first show and of course, now being featured in FHM!
What is your favorite chill time activity? I really like watching shows about cooking! I just finished watching The Taco Chronicles and it was great.
We are taking you out on your ultimate date and we really want to knock this one out of the ballpark, what would that entail? I love to do things that arethoughtful and that shows me who you are. Let’s have dinner at your favoriteneighborhood restaurant, then let’s head to a speakeasy for after-dinner drinksand a spirited conversation.
What are, hands down, your absolute favorite things to do? I am obsessed with travel. There is so much of the world to see, and I am excited to see as much of it as I can now that we are able to get back out there.
3 ultimate deal-breakers when it comes to men? Arrogance, a lack of empathy and someone who isn’t curious about the world around him.
You have one last chance to do something you have always wanted to do, with no limits on anything, what are you doing? Definitely go on safari!
Where would you say is your favorite place to be in the world and why? Anywhere near the water is going to be a favorite of mine. Right now, I’m still enjoying the afterglow of my recent trip to the Maldives!
What is currently playing on loop on your playlist? I listen to a lot of 90s R&B– Mariah Carey, Boyz II Men, and SWV are in constant rotation.
