Unapologetic

Meet this month’s cover star Miss Jade / @therealmissjade

What inspired you to start your career, and how has your journey evolved over time? I’ve always been drawn to self-expression and storytelling through visuals, which made modeling a natural fit. What started as a way to step outside my comfort zone has evolved into a platform to inspire others and celebrate individuality. Every shoot and the campaign has shaped me, teaching me resilience and the value of authenticity.

What has been the most defining moment of your professional life so far? I realized that modeling brings together so many elements I’m passionate about into one incredible career. It’s a creative outlet where I can style and curate shoots, a constant source of motivation to stay fit and disciplined, and a powerful way to capture moments that exude confidence and sensuality.

Who has been your biggest inspiration or role model throughout your journey? Angelina Jolie has always been my biggest inspiration. She’s the perfect mix of strength, elegance, and compassion. Watching her balance a successful career while using her platform to make a real difference in the world taught me that beauty is so much more powerful when it comes with purpose.

What does a typical day in your life look like? Each day brings something new, but I like to keep a rhythm. I start with coffee and set my intentions for the day, planning out my priorities in the morning. I work out four times a week, which keeps me grounded, and I make it a point to get daily sunshine and fresh air to recharge. Afternoons are for deep work, and evenings are about unwinding and enjoying the moment.

How do you stay motivated and focused in a fast-paced industry? I remind myself that progress, not perfection, is the goal. A sense of humor and a well-timed espresso martini keeps me energized. It’s about embracing life’s little joys while staying focused on what matters. Surrounding myself with inspiring people and good energy makes all the difference.

What’s your philosophy when it comes to balancing work and personal life? It’s all about learning how to balance your life with the right amount of everything. A little too much of anything can throw you off balance. Staying humble, grounded, and appreciative is the simplest and most effective way to stay happy. When you approach life with gratitude, balance tends to follow naturally.

What’s one thing you do that makes you happy? What truly makes me happy is planning trips and traveling. There’s something exciting about researching new destinations, imagining the adventures, and counting down the days. It’s not just about being somewhere new; it’s the anticipation and the idea of stepping out of my routine into something fresh. Traveling gives me a new perspective and keeps life vibrant, and having something to look forward to always keeps me inspired and excited.

What is your favorite holiday and why? I absolutely love Christmas in Manhattan. New York City comes alive with the Christmas lights, snowfall, and the holiday spirit, it truly is magical. As someone who values family, celebrating a holiday centered on togetherness makes it even more special. It’s the perfect time to cherish loved ones and embrace the festive joy of the season.

If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be and why? The French Riviera in the summer sunshine, tanning oil, and postcard-perfect views are my love language. There’s something irresistible about lounging by the sea, soaking up the rays, and knowing that a short drive or quick train ride gets you to some of Europe’s most iconic cities.

Do you have a favorite book, movie, or song that inspires you? The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho for its wisdom, Fight Club for its bold philosophy, and Queen’s Don’t Stop Me Now because it’s the ultimate anthem for living fully.

What’s one fun fact about you that most people don’t know? I spent half my life in the U.S. and the other half in Australia, making me a proud dual citizen. Growing up with two cultures has shaped me in so many ways including my accent, which has evolved into a unique blend of both worlds. It’s predominantly Australian, but certain words and pronunciations carry an American twist, or so I’ve been told. It’s something that developed naturally, and I absolutely love it. Having a multicultural upbringing has given me a broader perspective, and I think it’s one of the coolest things about my journey.

What advice would you give to someone looking to follow in your footsteps? Don’t build a brand based on what you think people want to see. Build a brand that authentically represents who you are and what you stand for. Your energy and vibe will naturally attract the right audience. A false persona may work short-term, but it won’t stand the test of time. Authenticity is key, When your brand aligns with your true self, people will connect with you on a deeper level, and your brand will grow and evolve organically.

How do you approach challenges or setbacks, and what keeps you going? I see challenges and setbacks as opportunities to grow. Instead of focusing on what went wrong, I ask myself, What can I learn from this? Resilience and perspective are my driving forces. I remind myself that no failure is final, and every roadblock is a chance to recalibrate and come back stronger. What keeps me going is a deep belief in my vision and the understanding that progress often comes disguised as adversity.

What’s the most valuable lesson you’ve learned in your career? Authenticity wins every time. Early in my career, I thought success meant fitting into a mold, but I quickly realized that my uniqueness is my greatest asset. Staying true to myself, even in tough situations, has opened doors, built trust, and allowed me to create genuine and deep connections. The lesson? Be unapologetically you, and the right opportunities will follow.

If you could give one piece of advice to your younger self, what would it be? Don’t waste time worrying about what people think. Learn to enjoy being exactly who you are. Happiness isn’t about money; it’s about making memories and spending time with the people who matter most. And don’t forget: love yourself, even on the tough days. Be kind to yourself and take care of your body, it’s the one thing that will carry you through every moment of life.
