10 years of Nine Knights/ Queens and Royals incarnations culminated in the ultimate crossover event hosted by Audi and Monster Energy in the Austrian Alps. The World’s best Freeskiers and Snowboarders combined with the very best Slope X riders to ride an unbelievable course that pushed the riders’ technicality, speed, tricks and creativity throughout a sunny week in Sölden.
Double Olympic Gold medallist and multiple X Games champion, Mr David Wise was once again at the forefront of the planning and creation of the event and had this to say: “I’ve been really involved with building the course from the beginning with Nico, but to see it in person and ride it was incredible- definitely one of the most ground-breaking events out there!”
Following a week of mind-blowing tricks being thrown down over the incredible Freestyle section of the course, James Woods jumped onto the podium with his epic Triple Cork 1440 Safety and Switch Triple Cork 1440 Octo. Local Tyrolean hero Simon Gruber also landed a podium finish with some super stylish 180 tricks, proving the event is bringing back style and artistry into comp formats.
